Inspiration Card by Dawn

Hi everyone, it’s Dawn here (again!) on this fabulous Sunday and I have a fun and easy little project to share.

When I color all those pretty Cute As A Button stamps I like to keep a record of the Copic colors I used – that way it is easier to keep track of my color choices for future use.

Copics used:
Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair - E37, E35, E33, E31
Jeans - B97, B95, B93, B91
Top and flowers - R85, R83, R81
Bag - RV34, RV000, R81

Directions on how to make the card:
First you need to color your image.  cut it out to 5x7.

Then you need to pick out three papers. Cut the card base to 5x7. Then you need to cut each of the papers to 5x7.
I used Spellbinders Labels 4 to create my frames.  You take the top paper and center the larger die and run it through your cutting machine.

Next take the frame you just created and lay it on top of the 2nd paper. Then take the next smaller die and center it on the 2nd paper using the top frame as a guide.
Run it through your cutting machine.  Then you want to layer the 2nd frame on top of the 3rd paper and using the frame as a guide center the smaller die.  Then run that through your cutting machine.
Layer the 3 frames on top of one another.
It should look like this:
Attach the layers together using tape, I used foam squares to adhere my layers together.
attach the colored image to card base, then attach the layered frame on top of colored image.

Then decorate as you please. I added some buttons to the corners and I created a 3d bag with buttons in it.

November Inspiration Card by Christine

This is how I made my finished card I hope it inspires you to have a go as I'm fairy new to stamping and this kind of card making myself, sometimes I'm still learning and trying new ideas.
I started off using the Christmas Elves in boots stamp http://cute-as-a-button-stamps.myshopify.com/collections/digital-stamps/products/digital-digi-stamps-big-eyed-digi-christmas-elves-cute-as-a-button-by-francesca-lopez.
First off I printed the image resizing it to make it larger, then I got out my spectrum noir pencils and my colour sheet (as I'm still learning I find a handy reference) I used 1,4,6,8,89,to do the skin. Using 9 and 31 to do the rosy cheeks
I used greens 45,46,47,48 to do the elf hats and tunics. I used yelled 16,14,12 and 10 for the girl elf's hair, the bells and the buckles on the shoes red 28 on the boy elfs hat for the boots I used 120,118,116,114 and 112x
Once coloured I fussy cut out the design. I used blues for the eyes
After that I got an 8x8 card and some green and red glitter paper from my stash.

I also added microfine glitter to the tops of the boots and the girl elfs hat.
I also used some gold and silver glitter paper which I did cut the presents from Using the big shot.
I cut out a love and blessings sentiment and used foam pads to stick the sentiment and my elves to the card I used foam pads to get a bit of depth.
My finished card I hope you like it.

Inspirational post by Helen

Today is my turn to show you some inspiration. Since Christmas is nearing I went for a Christmas card, but not a regular one.

I have started with a Dutch Doobadoo Shape art sheet and a piece of kraft cardstock.
The sheets are plastic and you just draw the size you want with pencil and then cut it with scissors. Then I did the same with the design paper.

I ended up with two sizes of kraft and two sizes of design paper. Also a piece of ribbon, a sentiment and the coloured digi is waiting to be combined into a card.

I guess this is the way I want to put my card together.

Of course we need some embellishments as well; here I am checking what is necessary to finish off my card. Some wood en some dies is what I will use.

Before I put my card together I work on all the edges of the kraft, design paper and around the image with Memento Bamboo Leaves ink and I use a dauber to do so (no dirty fingers here hihi).

I use tacky glue to glue all papers together.

And all this leads to this Christmas card with the lovely digi "Christmas giraffe".

Some close-ups of the card:

Used material:
  • Digi Christmas giraffe
  • Joy Kraft 21x14,8
  • Dutch Doobadoo Shape art mal Bulge
  • DP Marianne Design Eline's woodland Christmas
  • Lea'bilities holly leaves & pine branches
  • Derwents
  • Stickles Chrystal
  • Dutch Doobadoo label art A4 Christmas white
  • Craft Emotion - wooden snowflake
  • Papermania pastel brad
  • Crispy ribbon green
  • Memento ink Bamboo leaves
  • Daubers
  • Tacky glue
Hope you like my inspiration.

Inspiration project by Valentina

Hey there all you lovely crafters!
This is my first time ever as a DT member doing an inspiration post for Cute As A Button!
I really hope that you will like my little project and that you will get some inspiration out of it ;)

I use a digital image from Cute As A Button :  Queen of Hearts

I have used Faber Castel  colored pencils and some glitter gel pens
Here is some pre cut paper that I use
Some ribbons, crystals, crown and I crochet a small heart.
I cut out the digi image and put together the background.
The background is not level, cause I think that if I want a fun card it has to be crooked.
And finally here is the final product:

That is all from me for this month, I would like if you stop by at Cute As A Button shop
and pick some great digis and of course when you make a card,
come and visit us at our blog challenge and our facebook group.
Wishing you happy crafting Valentina
