December Inspiration by Dawn

Hi everyone, it’s Dawn here (again!) on this fabulous Tuesday and I have a fun and easy little project to share.

When I color all those pretty Cute As A Button stamps I like to keep a record of the Copic colors I used – that way it is easier to keep track of my color choices for future use.

Copics used:
Skin - E11, E00, E000, R20
Hair - E29, E25, E23, E21
Clothes and wings - RV11, BG11, RV14, BG15

Directions on how to make the card:

First you need to color your image.

Here's the completed colored image:

Next fussy cut out the colored image:
I wanted an airbrushed background using the colors that I colored the beautiful image.  So I used my copic airbrush system and the BG15 marker and added a layer of color to my card base front. It is very light in the picture, but it is there.

Next I added a layer of RV14 over the layer of BG15:
Next take both the airbrushed background and the cut out image and get ready to assemble your card.
Assemble card and decorate as you please.  I added some ribbon and bows and a few pearls.

December Inspiration by Christine

This month I chose to do the peacock mermaid for my inspiration project. She can be found her http://cute-as-a-button-stamps.myshopify.com/collections/digital-stamps/products/digital-digi-stamps-big-eyed-digis-img000261-peacock-mermaid-by-francesca-lopez-cute-as-a-button
Anyone who knows me knows I love mermaids, fairies and mythical creatures.
This is my finished card it is on an 8x8 card.
To start with I printed off the mermaid on some A4 card stock.
To colour her in I used my spectrum noir pencils, watercolour pens and alcohol markers. For her skin I used 1,3,6,8 for her hair I used the pens and my pencils.
I then fussy cut her out
She is next to one of my first cards here it shows how far my colouring has come along.
Next I found some green and blue papers from my stash. I mounted these on my card. I then played around with several embellishments before deciding to add some seaweed behind I roughly drew it as cut it out.
I decided on some sea themed beads an some pearl embellishments.
I also added some mother of pearl stars and some jewels to the mirror. I hope she inspires you all to have a go.
