Helen's July Inspiration Post - Santa Having Cocoa

Hello - it's Helen with some Christmas in July inspiration!

To make my card I've used the very cute 'Santa Having Cocoa' digi stamp which you can find here on the shop website.  Don't you just just love his slippers?!

I coloured the image with Promarkers and then die cut it before using two patterned papers to make my background.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend

October Inspiration - Helen

Hello - it's Helen here to share my first inspiration post with you as a member of the Cute as a Button Design Team!

It's never too early for Christmas (!) and I loved this image as soon as I saw it.

The image is called 'Christmas Giraffe' and you can find it here.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and added some patterned paper - I love red and green for Christmas cards!

Don't forget to join us for our current blog challenge here and check out all the inspiration in our Facebook Group here.

Keep safe

December inspiration by Helen

Hello, Helen here with some new inspiration for you.
We have a lot of pictures in this one, so grab a cup before you join me :-)

As I choose the above digi "a good book and a cup of tea" to make my inspiration post I thought it would be a good idea to make a flower out of teabag covers.

To make a flower you need 8 similar bags.

You will need to cut 8 similar squares of 3 x 3 cm.

Fold in half horizontally (coloured side outside)

Fold in half vertically (coloured side outside)

Fold diagonally (coloured side inside)

The five stages of the folding process;
in the end I have fuzzy cut around the square (in this case the cherry)

Now you can put the flower together:
above the way it should look like
under you see where to put the glue

In the end your flower should look like this:

As you can see I have made my flower match the beautiful digital papers - PolkaDot Sorbet Medley (available in the shop)

Here I have put all stuff together to build my card; the digi has been coloured in matching colours (derwent pencils) with the paper and the embellishments.

To have the digi come more forward I added some distress ink Walnut Stain with a dauber to the edges of the image.

As I laid everything together I decided I didn't like the twine, so had to make up something for the charm Tea pot. So I have put some jump rings onto the charm and added a matching bow from Forever Friends/Kraft notes series.

The flowers are put together with a brad and I stick them to the card with 3D kit.

This is how my card turned out in the end. The basic card is linen cardstock in the colour Terra brown, size 13,5 x 13,5 cm. On top the DP in the size 13x13 cm.

The minty paper flowers are from Dovecraft and the brad is from Basic Grey.

The lovely digi is coloured with derwent pencils on whisper white cardstock from Stampin'up.

The matching bow is from the Forever Friends/Kraft notes series and I have added the tea pot charm with jump rings to it.

Hope you like my inspiration post and if you look for any great stamps to colour, please have a look at the Cute as a Button shop. And don't forget that when you make a creation with a Cute as a Button stamp you are most welcome to share it on the challenge blog and/or in our facebook group.

See you next month.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
